Volunteer

If you live in our district and are looking for a way to serve your community, please consider joining our agency as a volunteer firefighter, alongside the approximately 30 volunteers who currently work with our department. We’ll train you to be response-ready in about three months.

Most of our volunteers attend at least two trainings per month, although there can be exceptions as long as a clear path to successful completion is presented. You must pass a background check, submit your driving record and have a valid Colorado driver's license.

Within the first year of training, we expect new recruits to obtain a CPR certification, complete three online courses and complete either Wildland Academy (S-130/190), EMR/ EMT, and/ or Structure Academy (FF1).

Steps to Getting Started as a Volunteer

  1. Look at some of our photos
  2. Submit the Volunteer Inquiry Form (below)
  3. Begin completing your Firefighter Task Book
  4. Attend trainings, meetings, and one-on-one sessions to get your task book signed off
  5. After completing the task book and receiving approval of your Captain, you will be ready to respond to emergencies
  6. Continue to train, respond, and grow your skills in a way that works for you!
